Ashling and Jason met each other while attending York College. Three and a half years after they started dating, Ashling took the plunge and moved to be with Jason in Washington DC! About 6 months later, on their 4 year anniversary he proposed! According to Ashling:
"I wasn’t sure when he’d pop the question, but I was positive about one thing: it wouldn’t be on our anniversary because Jason had told me “it’s so cliché to get engaged on your anniversary.” I was convinced..... After a great dinner, we came home and I took our dog, Lou, for a walk. When I came back inside, Jason called my name from the room saying “you have to see this!” It was Tuesday, so I assumed he was watching one of his favorite shows, Tosh.0. I walked in the room, looked at the TV, and then realized I didn’t see him anywhere. So, I turned to my left, and there he was: on his knee, right next to me. I’d like to say that I jumped up and down, crying and screaming “yes!” But, in reality…I blacked out. Dropped my jacket…dropped Lou’s leash…and just stared at him in shock. Eventually, I snapped out of it, said yes. Looking back, I think it’s good that he had to sweat it out a bit! "
We met up with them this past Saturday at Grounds for Sculpture where we didnt really focus too much on the sculptures, but more of the beautiful grounds throughout the park! Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
